"Given the right conditions, the body will heal itself"
In the following paragraphs, I bring perspective to current healthcare systems, in order to highlight the real solutions available through a sovereign health approach by inner standing the body's ability, given the right conditions, to heal itself.
When looking at sovereign health, it is wise to recognise what it is like to experience a lack of sovereign health.
When people think of health, some may think of their wellness, followed by safety in the great NHS and systems that support early diagnosis, flu vaccines, and prescriptions. Many would be right to think of diets, fitness, and wellness. Some think the major diseases are a luck of the drawer.
There are also some who accept the system of health as one that gives them the best chance at healing, and these will be the same people who, being non-the-wiser, eat McDonald's during chemotherapy.
The more I see the emphasis in the news channels and media about the newest advances in modern medicine, the billions raised for research, the more I see the fear mongering statistics increasing to suggest to us 1/2 will get cancer, and we will most likely be fucked. This messaging is not the reality and the most interesting thing about it is non of this looks at the real causes and therefore real solutions.
One area we look at in naturopathy is the body's built in system of eliminating toxic waste through the lymphatic system. When this system becomes clogged and backed up, symptoms present themselves early, and then build up overtime, until crisis happens, and then the person may go about trying to receive a diagnosis to begin paths of pharmaceutical solutions.
When looking at sovereign health and the terrain theory, we honour that the body is intelligent by design, and therefore we can support our natural vibration of good health by supporting the right conditions. - See alkaline vs acid: how does the body heal? PDF
When you cut your skin, your body has a fast acting response to heal the area.
Here below briefly describes how your body goes about naturally healing a wound.
- Blood vessels constrict to reduce blood loss
- Tiny blood cells called platelets stick to the damaged area.
- Platelets release chemicals that activate clotting factors in the blood.
- A protein calld fibrin forms a mesh that traps blood cells, creating a blood clot.
- This clot seals the wound and acts like a temporary patch.
- Cleaning the wound & Inflammation
- Once the bleeding has stopped, blood vessels widen to allow more blood to reach the area.
-
White blood cells move into the wound. These cells:
Kill bacteria.
Remove dirt and damaged tissue.
Release chemical signals that tell the body to begin rebuilding. -
This is why a healing cut often becomes:
Red
Warm
Inflamed
Tender - These signs are usually a normal part of healing.
- Rebuilding the tissue
- Next, the body starts replacing what was lost.
- Several things happen at once: Fibroblasts (special connective tissue cells) produce collagen, the main protein that gives skin strength.
- New tiny blood vessels grow into the wound to bring oxygen and nutrients.
- Skin cells at the edges divide and move across the wound to cover it.
- The wound gradually shrinks as surrounding tissue pulls together
Can you notice how inflammation is actually a good thing here?
Innerstanding why the body does something is key to a sensible solution in healing.
Everything happens for a reason, the body is clever. So, instead of "fighting" inflammation with iprobrufin, we look at the root cause by asking "why the inflammation?". We look at the root instead of just the symptom.
Inflammation shows us that the body is trying to heal itself.
When we support the body's natural healing ability by giving the right conditions through diet and positive feeling, the body gets to do what it needs to do without pharmaceutical need.
It is a journey, there will be more depth and detail as I write more on this topic. My next PDF will be how to live supporting sovereign health. I am also here to help directly, I have some availability for 1:1 guidance sessions if you would like to book a call.
